Jennifer Howell is a newly elected member of Council who has lived in Fort St. James for 43 years. Jennifer became interested in municipal politics and began attending Council meetings in 2017/2018 to increase her understanding.

After graduating from Fort St. James Secondary School, Jennifer began her career with the Royal Bank of Canada. Over this time, she filled numerous positions in the branch until she retired in 2015 as the Manager of Client Care. During her career Jennifer found a passion for customer service and gained understanding of complex problems faced by many families in her community. Jennifer enjoys learning from her work and those around her to gain a better understanding of her community.

Jennifer has contributed to her community through her involvement in Fort St. James Minor Hockey, Stuart Lake Figure Skating, the Fort St. James Curling Club, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 268, and Music Makers.

Jennifer has been married to her husband Stan for 37 years, they have 2 children and 7 grandchildren who all call Fort St. James home. Jennifer feels privileged to live in a tight knit community where cheery greetings, warm smiles, and quality conversations are plentiful.
